Easy Stretches to Improve Employee Wellbeing

These are some simple and easy stretches to improve employee wellbeing. Stretching can help to increase posture, reduce stress and improve health.

Here’s why stretching is so important:

Sitting in front of a computer every day can wreak havoc on your body. Staying in just one position for hours at a time has been proven to cause back pain, headaches, tension, and tightness in your body.

Studies show that regular stretching can increase posture, reduce neck and shoulder pain, reduce stress and increase relaxation both in mind and body. It has also been show that regular stretching increases productivity at the office.

How does it help with fitness?

Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong and healthy so we can maintain range of motion in the joints. Without stretching, our muscles may become tight and shorten. For instance, sitting all day in a chair results in tight hamstrings which are in the back of the thigh. Regular stretching will offset sitting and when you go to exercise you’re muscles will be long, lean and flexible which means that exertion won’t put too much force on the muscle itself.

Stretching over time will keep the body flexible and help with fitness.
